Throne of The Fallen by Kerri Maniscalco: A Review
Yes! I have the perfect morally grey, enemies-to-lovers, seven rings of hell book from Kerri Maniscalco! Honestly, this is the first book I've read from Maniscalco and it certainly won't be the last. This book had a plot that was so entrancing that I read the book in less than a few days.
In the first in her new series 'Princes of Sin' (how cool is that name alone) Prince Envy and his new companion Camilla navigate a dangerous game of tricks and lies in the hope of saving his Demon court. Set in the same world as 'Kingdom of the Wicked' this was an enchanting read!
One thing I have to say straight off the bat for this one is that Envy is morally grey from the start and no amount of plot and emotion changes that part of his character. He doesn't magically become soft or affectionate like some 'morally grey' characters do, but rather his twisted, unique nature shines through. As Envy and Camilla are forced to work together, the dual point of view narration throughout the book gives a real insight into the inner workings of their relationship and how emotions can override and distract even the most logical from the right path.
With the deadly game putting his court at risk, Envy knows that more than a little is at risk for him, but it really begs the question of how much he is willing to risk for himself. How far he would let his sin guide him and if he would let himself fall for the artist he swore was only by his side as part of a bargain.
I adored Envy with all of my little fantasy-loving heart and would highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Maniscalco's work as well as people who would gladly fall for the villain who was willing to burn the world for them.
Happy Reading,
Mei
