Blood and Ruin by Rumer Hale: a Review
Hi guys! Sorry for skipping a week... School is screwing me over and in the lead-up to exams everything really has been chaotic so I apologise for the mess it's making on the blog and my socials! This read is fun, nice, and easy, and I've managed to squish it between studying and taking time for myself.
Blood and Ruin by Rumer Hale is such a fun book. I know some people have pointed out that the world-building is on the more lax side and I'm not going to dispute that, however, I still find it an enjoyable read. The story is based in a hotel in New York and we honestly don't get much more than that... I understand why people are so put off by the book because of this, but I wanted to get through this book.
**Blood and Ruin is a Reverse Harem romance, meaning the main FMC will not have to choose between love interests. It also contains violence, adult themes, bad language and content which some readers may find upsetting.**
This spicy why-choose shifter romance novel is a good blend of everything anyone who enjoys books by Willow Winters or Margot Scott. Hale is very good at incorporating all characters into scenes consistently and no one is left on the sidelines for too long which can often be a problem when focusing on a plot revolving around five central characters. All the spicy scenes are well described and not massively vague on the details making it easier to actually understand what the hell is happening.
We follow Kiara and her attempts to escape the clutches of her evil stepfather King and his hotel, but when she's forced into a corner with the four alphas of Manhattan, she realises that not everything has to be at the cost of her happiness.
Blood and Ruin is the first in a trilogy available in an omnibus (which is really heavy lmao) or in individual books on Amazon.
