Cruel Prince by Holly Black: What to read next

If, like me, you enjoyed the 'Folk of the Air' series, and are looking for your next read, this is the post for you! These books include, but aren't limited to themes such as coming of age, romance, fantasy, and hints of LGBTQ+. I have compiled a small selection of books that I hope you will enjoy and I hope that you adore these as much as I did! Let me know what you think of these must-reads.

1. 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' by Sarah J Maas is a brilliant next read if you haven't already read it; it had me in an absolute enchantment for a solid 2 weeks...

This book is recommended for anyone over the age of 14.

Synopsis: When a nineteen-year-old huntress, Feyre, kills a wolf in the deep woods, a terrifying creature arrives at her home to demand retribution. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her abductor is not truly a beast, but one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled her world.

- Fantasy and romance
- Faeries
- Strong female protagonist

2. 'Red Queen' by Victoria Aveyard is one of my all-time favorites and will grab your attention if you like this series.

This book is recommended for anyone over the age of 12.

Synopsis: 'Red Queen' tells the story of Mare Barrow, a 17-year-old girl who lives in a world where status depends on the color of her blood. Those with red blood are commoners while those with silver blood are deemed royals with extraordinary powers.

- Fantasy
- War and conflict
- Hidden identity

3. 'A Touch of Darkness' by Scarlett St. Clare is an amazing book and will have you in a chokehold.

This book is recommended for anyone over the age of 16.

Synopsis: After a lucky encounter with Hades, Persephone finds herself in a contract with the God of the Dead; the terms are impossible: Persephone must create life in the Underworld or lose her freedom forever. This modernized greek myth re-telling is a must-read for any fantasy enjoyer!

- Romance and a bit of spice
- Conflict and war
- Strong topics like assault and harassment.

Happy Reading,
- Mei
